Have you ever wondered how some people look 10 times younger while some look 10 times older?

Some unhealthy foods do worse than just making you fat and unhealthy. As science has found, eating too much of certain types of foods can make you age faster.

That said, if you are a huge fan of any of these ten foods, you might want to think twice before you binge eat them next time.

1. Sweets

When people consume more refined carbohydrates and added sugar than their cells can synthesize, excess sugar bonds with protein and triggers a process that can affect skin collagen (The protein that keeps the skin elastic and youthful).

It also damages the teeth causing tooth decay and discoloration.

Examples of Sweets include;

  • Milkshakes
  • Cream soda
  • Candies.

2. Alcohol

Alcohol depletes vitamin A from the skin thereby reducing the skin’s collagen.

Furthermore, taking excess alcohol kills your liver cells gradually. And the liver is the organ for removing toxins naturally that could potentially affect the skin.

But if toxins build up in your liver because they are not broken down properly, your skin develops a variety of issues such as acne and wrinkles.

Alcohol can also lead to dehydration because it dries up moisture from your skin. And this leads to inadequate sleep, which can in turn lead to stress and also cause wrinkles and saggy skin.

Examples of alcoholic drinks;

  • Whiskey
  • Beer
  • Gin
  • Wine
  • Vodka

3. Processed food

Processed foods contain a high level of sodium. It is stripped of fiber which is supposed to aid digestion and absorption of carbohydrates.

These processed foods have been altered to be addictive. And this is precisely why eating too much junk food can make you fat and even obese. Once you start, the addictive nature and the ease of getting them will always go back for more.

Furthermore, eating too many processed foods creates free radicals leading to oxidation of your cells and DNA which can cause serious problems to your cells.

The best way you can reduce this problem is to reduce adding salt to processed food and try as much as possible to reduce how frequently you consume them.

Examples of processed food;

  • Sweet and savory packaged snacks like chips and cookies.
  • Bakery products like buns, cake, and muffins.
  • Flavored potato chips. E.t.c
